From Resilience to Reach: How a Personal Journey Sparked a Global Fingerboarding Brand

Blitz is a new, high-pressure fingerboard game mode that blends the structure of Game of SKATE with a ticking clock. Each player gets one minute to land a shared trick—if you miss, your clock keeps running. It’s fast, intense, and built for consistency under pressure. Born from a kendama-inspired format at Fingerboard Con, Blitz is already reshaping competitive fingerboarding with its raw, time-based energy.

Danny Stevens is a Nashville-based musician and longtime fingerboarder whose creative journey spans world tours, five albums, and a return to his childhood love of Tech Decks. Best known as the former frontman of The Audition, he now blends music and fingerboarding into a daily rhythm of passion and flow. His debut solo album, Better Than You Left Me, dropped in 2025, marking a new chapter in a life driven by creativity.

A self-taught builder from Poland, this wood technologist turned fingerboard park visionary has been shaping the scene since 2006. Founder of IM Fingerboarding, he’s built everything from backyard parks to branded installations, including the iconic forklift park. Though he jokes about being a “horrible rider,” his creativity, craftsmanship, and dedication to growing the community speak for themselves.

Tristan Minton is a Colorado-based artist and lifelong skater who brings over 27 years of skate culture into fingerboarding. Blending design, filmmaking, and storytelling, he’s turned fingerboarding into a creative outlet that fuels his “skate brain.” Riding for ChemsFB, UAG, and Ryse, Tristan’s focus isn’t on competition—it’s on style, realism, and pushing the art form forward.

Chris Daniels, aka CDPLAYA, is a Seattle-based legend in the fingerboard scene—a creator, historian, and community builder since the late ’90s. From launching the iconic FBWeekly blog to documenting the culture through The History of Fingerboarding YouTube series, Chris has spent decades shaping and preserving the scene. Sponsored by top brands and driven by connection over clout, his impact on fingerboarding is deep, lasting, and still growing.

Clark Checketts and Ethan Alvey, the red-headed duo behind SkateStation, are driving Utah’s fingerboarding scene with hands-on creativity and community spirit. From running 801FB events to launching Utah’s first fingerboard shop, they’re turning passion into a full-on movement—one sesh at a time.

The 2025 King of the Plies by USAFBL was the rawest, wildest fingerboard contest yet—no redos, no filters, just real crews taking on absurd challenges in real streets. Team Loop took the crown in Chicago with fearless clips, wild creativity, and tight crew energy, backed by fingerboarding vets and new faces alike. From tre flips in porta potties to fire tricks and treetop sessions, this event captured the grit, chaos, and heart of fingerboarding in 2025.

Elouis Morales Rodriguez is a multimedia artist and CAD designer from Puerto Rico who blends engineering with creativity through fingerboarding. Since discovering the hobby in 2023, he’s become a flow rider for SXL Ramps and a key figure in the island’s fingerboard scene. Inspired by its DIY spirit, Elouis creates custom art, deck graphics, and obstacle designs, collaborating with local builders like VennuckSkateCrafts and Islander Ramps.

Chris Commons from Elkhart, Indiana, is an artist and dedicated fingerboarder whose creativity shapes everything he does. A family man and lifelong skate enthusiast, Chris blends art and fingerboarding through custom paint jobs and park builds. A multi-time competition winner and passionate community member, he calls fingerboarding “the best board game ever,” always pushing to create and inspire.

Adrian Herrera, founder of ABC Parks, has been fingerboarding for over 20 years, with creativity driving every step. From handbuilt obstacles as a kid to recreating pro-level parks, Adrian’s journey blends DIY roots with professional builds. Now based in Michigan, he continues to craft unique setups, film sessions, and push the limits of what fingerboard parks can be. With new drops and collabs on the way, ABC is just getting started.

Mark Andrew, founder of 6oh5oh, is a Perth-born creative now based in Orange County, California. Blending his lifelong love of skateboarding with 3D printing, Mark launched 6oh5oh to bring unique, modular, and glow-in-the-dark obstacles to the fingerboard scene. With a fresh perspective and strong community spirit, he’s quickly making his mark—one custom ramp at a time.

Worden Cuyler, aka @CerealCity_FB, is a passionate fingerboarder from Battle Creek, Michigan. Since reentering the scene in 2021, he’s become a sponsored rider for Cosmic Inertia and Fattys Pre-Rolls—teams he proudly calls family. Known for his energy, creativity, and love for the community, Worden’s journey hit a high point after winning King of the Plies with Team Fattys. With more projects ahead, he’s carving out his place in fingerboard culture.

Johnathan Peña, aka TCGENE, is a passionate fingerboarder and collector from San Antonio, Texas. A longtime hobbyist with a deep love for limited decks and rare graphics, he documents the scene through his YouTube and Instagram. Riding for SAYVUR by FAYMUS Decks with three pro models, Johnathan blends his collector’s mindset with a mission to grow the local scene and share fingerboard culture with the world.

Eli Box, a filmmaker and father from Carriere, Mississippi, has been part of the fingerboarding scene since 2011. From early YouTube videos to riding for brands like Gibby Decks and Missing Wax, Eli stays rooted in the culture while balancing military service and fatherhood. He’s currently building two street parks, planning events, and working toward his first pro model—all while pushing his passion forward.

Joaquim Guigo-Méndez, a French-born artist based in Buenos Aires, blends his love of art and craftsmanship through December Fingerboards. A former Blackriver pro, he now hand-builds high-quality decks from scratch, even designing his own machines. With a stacked international team and a new budget-friendly brand (Merci Fingerboarding) in the works, Joaquim continues to push the creative and technical limits of fingerboarding.

Dave Ware, a Wilmington-based builder and musician, rediscovered fingerboarding during the pandemic while playing with his daughters. What started with a simple wooden ramp evolved into Warehouse Ramps and contributions to USAFBL park design. A longtime punk musician with Monkey Knife Fight, Dave blends creativity, community, and DIY spirit—now also running Radio FB Shop to support the growing fingerboard scene.

Sergiy Hryshchyshen, a former skateboarder from Ukraine, turned to fingerboarding as a creative outlet during the pandemic. Through his brand, Workers FB, he crafts unique obstacles and fingerboards with a fresh, artistic approach—drawing from years of skate culture experience. Despite challenges from the ongoing war, he continues to innovate, sponsor events, and grow a global community focused on craftsmanship and creativity.

He’s the kind of person who’s always up for a good time, whether he’s hanging out with friends and family or throwing down some smooth tricks on a fingerboard.

Chezz Anderson, a Phoenix-based musician and fingerboarder, has made waves in both scenes. From connecting with key Arizona figures to founding bands like POINTBREAK, he’s pushing boundaries in music and fingerboarding. Follow him: @zzehcc.

Mike “Cube” Sherrill, a Denver native, has been skating and snowboarding since day one. A true OG fingerboarder, Cube now runs TH!S Art, Print & Design and TH!S FB, creating a hub for the fingerboarding community with events and exclusive products.
